This is exactly the kind of story that makes me so, so fascinated by library/information science stuff. To think, without Ms. Evans this stuff would have just been DESTROYED!

Reclamation and preservation techniques aren't just for moldy books that no one cares about that will sit in an unvisited museum somewhere. Amazing.

Resident Evil 5: The game that just keeps on giving (somewhat dubious press)

I can't remember the last time a major video game release was able to stir up so much trouble in the real world. The game has barely made it onto the shelves and already it's brought a botched viral marketing scheme that left an assortment of severed body parts missing throughout London (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/12/capcom-publicity-stunt-loses-realistic-fake-limbs-in-london/) and even drawn out the venerable Wall Street Journal to explore the allegations of racist themes in the game-- and indeed even within Games with a capital G  (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123672060500987853.html)! Yeesh!

But if you could give a hoot about the mediastorm around the game and would rather focus on-- you know-- PLAYING it, it's out, it looks great, and it appears to be a real blast. The guides on Mahalo's very fine Video Games team have done a real bang-up job digging up the most important stuff you'll need as you dig into Resident Evil 5:

1) Video Walkthroughs in spectacular HD! (http://www.mahalo.com/Resident_Evil_5_Walkthrough)

2) Locations of all the BSAA Emblems for you slavering completionists (http://www.mahalo.com/Resident_Evil_5_BSAA_Emblems)

3) Info on all of the unlockable content, including costumes (http://www.mahalo.com/Resident_Evil_5_Unlockable_Costumes) if you feel like jumping into the Great RE 5 Racism Debate yourself, and the playable characters you can unlock as well (http://www.mahalo.com/Resident_Evil_5_Unlockable_Characters). Jill was always my favorite <3 <3

P.S. Video Games isn't the only fun-loving team in the Mahalo corral! How Tos are equal parts zany wackiness and didactic servitude! Look at our page on How to Survive a Zombie Attack (http://www.mahalo.com/How_to_Survive_a_Zombie_Attack)!

NHL Trade Deadline Information: Mahalo-ized

Nothing like trafficking professional athletes as if they were bewildering livestock which happen to be extremely skilled in bizarre ways, including whacking a tiny disc with a big, flat wooden club.

As always, though, I'm amazed at Team Mahalo's coverage of ongoing live events like the Oscars Live Coverage page from the other weekend. Hats off to you fellas. Now everyone go read some How Tos!
